The origination of The Starving Housewives began 30 years ago. As neighbors, friends, and stay-at-home moms, Cindy and Cameron enjoyed crafting as a hobby. To earn a little extra money, they began participating in local craft shows. One particular outdoor show was a complete flop. Sales were zero, it rained, the wind blew and all their merchandise got ruined. In despair, Cindy and Cameron looked at each other and realized they were "starving housewives". "Oh... hey... that's a catchy name! What if we were to start our own show"? Shortly thereafter, they decided to "host" a neighborhood show in Cameron's garage.

They invited everyone they knew, printed a few flyers and nailed signs on street corners. They drove around neighborhoods and apartment complexes leaving flyers wherever they could. A couple of years later, they were searching for a little bit larger building... the garage was now too small. The Starving Housewives were beginning to grow.

The Maltby Community Club hosted the shows for many years. The building presented a quaint atmosphere for a country craft show. Ten years later, The Starving Housewives moved their Spring and Christmas shows to Echo Falls Country Club and their Fall show to the Local 302 Union Hall.

Cindy and Cameron thank ALL of the crafters who have participated in their shows over the course of the last 30 years. These dedicated and hardworking crafters are the true Starving Housewives. Their extraordinary talents have been the inspiration behind 30 years of promoting "The Show With The Great Reputation".
